c. 1695 Baites tall case clock. Tall clock movement with inside count wheel strike, count wheel rivited to back side of main wheel, locking lever outside of back plate. Brass composite dial with half quarters, name engraved on chapter ring. The movement features an early form of inside count wheel striking. The count wheel is riveted to the back of the striking break wheel, and the locking lever is placed outside the back plate and operates through a slot in this plate. Later clocks have the count wheel riveted to the front of the great wheel and the locking lever between the plates. |
