Description |
Case is Sharp Gothic-On-Frame Clock (steeple on steeple), "wagon spring." 8-day time and strike brass roller pinion movement marked Birge and Fuller, Bristol, Conn USA, powered by a leaf spring with intermediate drums between the lever arms and the movement. Upper door has reverse painted and stenciled tablet. Lower door has stenciled tablet. Label inside reads "J. Ives Patent, Accelerating Equalizing Lever Spring, Eight Day Brass Clocks, Secured February 24 1845, Made and for sale, Wholesale and Retail, Birge and Fuller, Bristol, Conn."
