Description |
Oval alarm watch, early 17th century; probably German, but hour hand is typical of English style c. 1720; Dial has a silver chapter ring with Roman numerals, and a gilt metal alarm disc; Verge escapement with some form of advanced and retard fitted later; two winding arbors for movement and alarm; shaped movement plate pillars in a design called "Round Baluster'"; full plate, gilt, key wind, key set; silvered brass dial. |
