c. 1929 Clemens Riefler Clock Master clock operates in an air-tight case to maintain constant pressure. Clock is powered by an electric mechanism that operates every 34 to 38 seconds. Riefler free escapement's impulse is delivered to pendulum through the suspension spring rather than through the crutch. Two escape wheels, one for locking and one for impulsing. Pallet frame attached to a platform that pivots on knife edges resting on agate plates. Dial reads, "Clemens Riefler / No. 525 / Munchen / 1929." Seconds and hours each in a subsidiary dial. Minutes around dial. Hours are numbered 0-23. Brass plaque. Cast iron frame. Auxillary hand pump. Eyepiece for leveling. Glass dome covering movement is tightly sealed. |
