Description |
8-day time and strike round plate brass movement. Brocot escapement visible in upper dial. Perpetual calendar movement. Movement marked with insignia of Marti et Cie, a manufacture in Paris. Movement also marked, "Hamann & Koch, NY." Hamann & Koch sold imported clocks but did not manufacture them. French black marble mantel clock. Marble is etched and has malacite inlay. An extremely heavy clock, about 46 pounds. Double dial, with upper dial indicating time. Painted lower dial displays month, equation of time, day of month, day of week, and age of moon. Left side base panel is unattached. |
