Description |
Eight-day brass movement, recoil escapement, time only. Painted, kidney shaped iron dial ( 7" in diameter) with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals signed A. Willard in decorative "theatre curtain" cartouche, on a blue ground with red and gold curtains. Case: mahogany veneer with cross banding and stringing on base. Door uses cross banded mahogany veneer and stringing along side panels only. Door is tiger maple veneer, stained mahogany, without stringing. Ogee bracket feet. Hood with central reeded plinth and pierced fretwork, with three small (1.5") urn and spire turned brass finials. Door and dial mat are replacements. |
