The pocket watch shows Mahatma Gandhi on the left and national Musim leader Sankat Ali on the right. The dial has 11 Indian political activists, with Gandhi's symbolic spinning wheel at the six o'clock position. At the turn of the century India was fighting for its' independence from British control. Ghandi, as well as his fellow compatriots,, are well know for his non-violent resistance campaign to gain Indian independence. Sadly, Gandhi was assassinated January 30, 1948. |
