Description |
c 1830 Norris North Pillar & Scroll shelf clock 30-hour wood time and strike "Torrington" or "East-West" movement, Type 6, 5-arbor train, 1 3/4" between plates, beveled count wheel drive pinion bridge canted to right, rests on two bottom rails and pinned between two side blocks. Label: Patent Improved Clocks, Made by Norris North, Torrington, Conn. H. Adams, pr. 1820 Census on right side. Wood black Arabic dial with starburst center, floral spandrels. Mahogany veneered pillar and scroll case, original tablet with stenciled border. Finials & skirt replaced, replaced feet, nice early finials, one a replacement - Chris Bailey 8/99 Hands and winder in one envelope, pendulum and pendulum rod in another envelope in clock. Weights nearby clock. |
