Description |
Chain fusee, time and count wheel strike, single hand (replaced). Engraved brass case with 4 glass windows (1 glass missing) showing movement. Window frames ( 1 missing) were silvered at one time. Bell set in bottom which is hinged and held closed with a brass catch. Base is opened to wind. Four applied (screws) cast claw and ball feet , probably silvered at one time. Engraved cock replaced at time the balance was sprung. Escape wheel and going train may be replaced. Most of strike train (at least last three wheels) replaced. Count wheel has 4 spoke "cap" wheel , not original. Fusee converted from gut to chain. Balance wheel probably not original. |
