Description |
30-hour brass Marine lever movement. Spring motivated with a balance wheel instead of a pendulum. Not the original movement, but likely from the same time period as case. Movement is unmarked, but likely made by E.N. Welch or Elisha Manross. Dial has been repainted, but does not quite fit with the movement. Casing is papier mache with mother-of-pearl inlay. Patriotic theme. Reference Bulletin, Winter 1973 Supplement, A History of the American Spring-Driven Clock, page 78. |
