C 1842 Forestville Manufacturing Co. shelf clock Label printed by "Joseph Hurlbut, Hartford; E.N. Welch, J.C. Brown, C. Pomeroy" Winding arbors at 10 & 2. The 30-hour movement is brass, striking, and weight driven. The clock winds at 10 and 2 giving the appearance of an upside-down movement. Double decker wooden case carved painted gold pillars and cornice. Case glass features lake house with trees and a floral design. Dial is painted pink with black Roman numerals and painted pink flowers at the corners. |
