Description |
Roxbury style maple and curly maple case. Freted bonnet with fluted columns tapered at top and bottom; brass capitals. Bonnet has three hollow ball and eagle finials. Trunk has fluted quarter columns with brass capitals. Tiger maple base with straight bracket feet.. Eight-day rack and snail brass movement, seconds bit. Rocking ship at top of dial is connected to the arbor of the acnhor escapement. Repainted iron dial signed Abel Hutchins, Concord. Shell motif decoration in the dial corners. Rocking ship, flying the American flag, appears to have its original paint. |
