Description |
"Office Drop Calendar" 8-day brass time and strike movement. Round drop wall clock with walnut and burl walnut veneers. Uses Galusha-Maranville patent (#31,612 of Mar 1861) calendar dial. Simple sweep calendar mechanism. 12" dial. Opening for month display at top of dial is adjusted manually. Days of the week show through openings in the outer ring and are also adjusted manually. Dial reads, "Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. Winsted Conn." Lower glass has stencilled decoration. Reference Calendar Clocks by Andrew Hayes Miller and Dalia Maria Miller, 1976, page 133. |
