Description |
Miniature Viennese wall clock with a thermometer engraved with the Reaumur scale. The case is made of ebonized wood with a mother-of-pearl dial and gilt chapter ring. A gilt framework of gothic design surrounds the dial, and gilt animal head brackets provide support for the movement and bonnet. The movement is 30-hour, with hour strike, spring driven with an anchor escapement, wound by a small pulley with counterweights which hang in front of the pendulum. Metal pendulum rod. Pendulum and weights hang exposed. The thermometer is attached to a silver plate and mounted in a recessed niche behind the pendulum and weights. |
