Description |
c. 1974 Beeler escapement model #16 Glass Dome. The pin wheel escapement was invented by the Parisian Amant in 1741. It was modified by Lapaute around 1753 so that the pins were "D" shaped. A later modification flattened the "D" shaped pins. Lapaute also placed pins on both sides of the escape wheel. Not the lack of recoil, making this a form of dead beat escapement. Engraved on the back of the dial "designed and made by Fred A. Beeler kalamazoo MI. Clock #16 Completed April 12, 1974." |
