Description |
35mm, full plate, fusee, verge escapement, 3-arm flat brass balance, pierced and engraved cock and foot with mask and streamers, Tompion regulator, square baluster pillars, set-up regulator under barrel, top plate engraved "Tho. Grace London." Silver champleve dial with half hour marks, marked, "Grace London" in center. Roman numerals indicate hours. Outer circle of Arabic numbers indicate minutes at five minute increments. Two copper hands, not original. Silver open face pair case is highly engraved on outside with sun surrounded by a calendar with almanac data, saints days, and holidays. Included in the calendar dates is the execution of King Charles I, restoration of Charles II, and coronation of George II. Deep inner case is plain silver with no hallmarks. In the center is stamped a small star above the initials, "RB." |
