Description Japanese pillar clock (usually hung on a pillar on the wall) comprising a rectangular wood case with the upper portion housing the brass mechanism. A removable hood covers the mechanism. Vertical brass bar mounted on front of the case has 25 hours marked in single column of Roman Numerals (reads12, 1 through 12 and 1 through 12 a second time from top to bottom); as weight descends inside the case, and attached pointer reads against the hour marking on the case, noting the time A small drawer in the base of the case holds the winding key.
