Production of model 2030, circa 1975, used Rolex's patented "rotor" automatic mechanism.
Unlike the HARWOOD (see NAWCC Object ID: 73.3.7), where the weight could only travel through an arc of 270 degrees, the Rolex "rotor" can rotate a full 360 degrees in either direction, but winding is in one direction only.
Patent number CH160492 was applied for January 14, 1932, and granted March 15, 1933.
Movement: 28 jewel, 18,000 beats per hour, screwless Glucydur balance, self-compensating flat hairspring, Kif-Ultraflex shock resistance, Spirofin fine adjuster with two ruby regulator pins, Clinergic 21 anchor escapement, date indication with instant change.
