Description |
Mahagony cased tall clock. Quarter columns on the base have vines carved in relief. Fluted quarter columns in the waist and free standing fluted columns on the hood. Dentil molding below the hood on the waist , at the top of the hood below the break arch, and along the curved portions of the arched. Carved floral rosettes,and a carved rooster finial. The rooster finial is a replacement and appropriate for this clock. Oval glass inserts in the sides of the hood. Movement is 8-day time and rack and snail strike., with a center seconds hand. Wilson painted iron moon dial signed Solomon Park & Co. Scratched on lower front of front plate "John Sharmer / Oct 26 / 1796." |
